Lanterns on 부처님오신날
I wish I brought my real camera instead of having to use my phone ;A;
Lotus Lanterns at a temple in Korea. I assume it was this past weekend for Buddha’s bday. I didn’t get any good pictures of these scenes.

Why do terrible things happen to good people?
(I’m not talking about myself here).
We ask ourselves this question a million times, but an answer is never found. Usually we’re just speechless or our thoughts run in circles.
I think I’ve really overestimated my lack of empathy. On the bus ride to school today, I was trying to hide my tears. Such a loss.
Busan bus terminal. I like eggs buses.
Charlie Brown Cafe (Busan, South Korea)
The one thing I haven’t already done or already seen. Now, I’m finished (lol just kidding).
If you turn into a bucket of coffee and chocofudge ice cream, then you’ve found the way to my heart. So nummy…
Or, if you resemble Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you already have me. Seriously - come and get me. I need a brooding and unavailable man, please!
End of the parade, end of the night and then Myeongdong next morning for shopping…where I deemed everything too expensive for the quality (I probably just tired myself out with this power shopping kick I’ve been on).
3 straight days in Seoul and I’d had enough. It tends to do that to you. Yet, I keep coming back for more. What a relationship!
The lanterns look like glowing, heavenly objects, right? Unreal, right? Can’t quite see any details?
Thank Mr. Craptastic.
More of the parade. The lanterns are very pretty, but the glow is sadly too much for Mr. Craptastic to handle.
Video is just always better than photos, especially with my camera phone appropriately named Mr. Craptastic.
Enjoy. From the Lotus Lantern Festival in Seoul.
Lanterns. The Lotus lanterns will come. But, yep, there were costumed performers carrying lanterns, people young and old in traditional dress, monks and even two waygook skaters with lanterns milking the crowd.
Wow, here are pictures from the parade. I say “wow” because they’re pretty terrible. But, this parade was a big deal, so you can imagine how hard it was to find a decent view.
Or, we can pretend that you are on drugs and the pictures are perfectly fine. Yes, let’s do that.
Mr. Hat on the right is going to become a constant theme in these photos. Don’t wear hats to parades, kids.
From Samcheongdong, it was a short walk to Insadong. I wanted to buy souvenirs, but everything seemed so lame and overpriced. A few mediocre pictures will have to do. Or maybe I should have gotten some postcards. Dang :/
Anyways, then I headed to Jongno and waited around until the Lotus Lantern Buddha’s bday festival parade thingy (unofficial title) began. Also had to take a picture of that vest because the print is wicked.
Samcheongdong. Definitely worth a visit. I didn’t find a group of macaroon balloons though, which got me sort of disappointed. But, choose to look on the bright side, right?
Back in Samcheongdong, I hit up this retro pie place. Retrona Pie is a quirky name and the decor is equally quirky. Very retro vibe going on and great views from the second and third floors. I’m afraid I’m a sucker for good reviews, so I went with the Earl Grey Chocolate Pie (tea and chocolate favors combine beautifully!). But, I seriously considered going for seconds and opting for a piece of the banana chocolate one. Thoughts of “think thin, think thin!” got me through it lol.
